We have a group text for sending practice schedules and stuff like that. ** Last Sunday, one of our members wrote, "I won't make it to the service today; I just don't feel like singing. I may not come back to church until I get a grip on my problems. ** People responded, "Let me know if I can do anything to help." "Praying for you." "You will be missed." All kind attempts at support in an awkward situation. I thought about it for awhile and prayed. Being a private person, I feel weird in these situations. It's like I'm embarrassed for the person because I would never share something like that in a group. ** As soon as I had that thought. I felt convinced. It was as if Jesus Himself spoke to my heart. Why would this be awkward? It's exactly what I want you to do. It's exactly what the church is for. Suddenly it seemed like this actually was the church. It actually was a praise team. The church is more than a service. Music is more than praise. I wrote back: "We love you. You don't have to be in a good mood or have a grip on your stuff. We are for you, and Jesus is too." ** From now on, I'm going to try to be more "awkward" at church instead of acting like I have it all together. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Make us both seek and maintain exclusivity with each other in this relationship in our thoughts and actions and be honest at all costs. Let us look to each other for support and love. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Allow us to have spontaneity and romantic thoughts/ gestures towards one another. Dear Lord please watch over my Mom and daughter. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions for my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability and growth, and piece of mind to my family and me. Keep me safe, healthy, and protected. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state., Help D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Make a Joe do the right thing by him and pay what he owes. Let there be authenticity, respect, truthfulness, appreciation, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest.
