So let me tell you how proud I was of my daughter, Holly, when my husband and I visited over a long Memorial Day weekend. My son-in-law's mom was also visiting, so Holly had planned special meals. On Monday, I helped her makes side dishes to accompany the brisket smoking on the grill. Then, before dinner, she prepared lasagna from scratch, salad, and homemade rolls for neighbors who had a newborn baby. She started to make a dessert for them, but I talked her into sharing the one she'd already made for us.***The next time we visited, Holly was on crutches from a broken foot, our grandson was facing serious surgery, and our son-in-law had deployed. A few days after we arrived, I learned that Holly had planned to double a recipe for dinner that night so we could share with another neighbor who'd just had a baby. Yes, it was an inconvenient time, but Holly and a neighbor who'd just had a baby. Yes, it was an inconvenient time, but Holly and a neighbor had organized a Care Train for the subdivision, and no one had signed up for the Fourth of July.****Like earthly parents, God feels pleasure when He sees His children doing things worth bragging about. And what better way to please Him than by imitating Jesus? That means serving others with a self-sacrificial love-even when it's inconvenient or costly. Putting others' needs above our own desires. Grabbing every opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Make us both seek and maintain exclusivity with each other in this relationship in our thoughts and actions and be honest at all costs. Let us look to each other for support and love. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Allow us to have spontaneity and romantic thoughts/ gestures towards one another. Make us unselfish in our thoughts and gestures towards one another. May there be truth and honesty between us even in difficult situations. Dear Lord please watch over my family. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions for my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, safety, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability and growth, and piece of mind to my family and me. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state. Help D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect for me , truthfulness, sense of being valued, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest. God please protect and heal J.J. and provide him with comfort and love he needs during this difficult time. Protect D.J. ,all my friends, family, and me from getting any colds and viruses. Heal those with the virus, protect those who come in contact with the virus, especially our healthcare workers, law enforcement, grocery/store and delivery workers, those with compromised immune systems, elderly, those with underlying health conditions, and military.
