"This really doesn't hold much, but you gave it to me." "That's all right," I reassured him. "Put it in the giveaway bag. My turn. I wore this sweater when I was pregnant, so I'm sort of attached to it. Should I keep it?" ****"Hon, that was twenty-four years ago. I think it's time to let it go." It's amazing how difficult it can be to let go of possessions-even those that are broken or useless. Removing clutter involves difficult choices and mental effort to discern what's really important to us. Yet these things we've invested in are so very temporary. ****My house often feels cluttered by objects. But my days can also become encumbered by activities and interest that demand my time. I remember hearing a poem when I was young, "Only one life, 'twill soon be passed. Only what's done for Christ will last." Just as my husband and I set aside time to declutter around the house, I can take regular inventory of my interests and passions. Which parts of my life are enabling me to serve Jesus's kingdom more fully? Are they distracting me from Him and causing me to become too enmeshed with the world? How can I use my hobbies or other passions to worship Jesus and share Him with others?

Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. In thanksgiving for a bit of hopeful news for my husband. Thank you for healing his pancreas and I pray that the news that we got that there is no cancer there is correct. I pray that the cancer in the colon and the liver can be treated. I pray that we are able to take the most aggressive path to his recovery.
