Psalm 42:5 (AMP)*********"IT'S ALMOST SUMMER AND "THE LIVING" is supposed to be "easy," according to George Gershwin song "Summertime." but sometimes it's not so easy. I'm off work every summer, and ever summer I have a battle in my mind. In the last few weeks several famous people have committed suicide. Every time I hear about suicide, I am reminded of my teenage and young adult years when I longed to die. I was hopeless. It wasn't until Jesus came into my life at the age of twenty-six that I began to look at life through a lens of hope. ***Having Jesus as my Savior, knowing He is with me and that He cares for me, gives me strength. His presence helps me fight when my mind wants to focus on regrets, failures, shortcomings, and all manner of negativity. Those negative thoughts trouble me the most when I am not working. That's why it's necessary for me to be even more vigilant about focusing on the words of Jesus during the summer. I have to find a way to stay busy. So this summer I'm delighted to have the chance to write. It give me purpose and draws me closer to Him.****It is humbling and awesome honor to be able to refocus negative thoughts into hopeful thoughts in Jesus. I think of His goodness toward me and His promises to me. I begin to praise Him for His help and His presence. Because Jesus lives, I have hope for the future, and I can face the summer. Dear God, You generously blessed Your Servant, St. Pio of Pietrelcina, with the gifts of the Spirit. You marked his body with the five wounds of Christ Crucified, as a Powerful witness to the saving Passion and Death of Your Son. Endowed with the gift of discernment, St. Pio labored endlessly in the confessional for the salvation of souls. With reverence and intense devotion in the celebration of Mass, he invited countless men and women to a greater union with Jesus Christ in the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist.

Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. Dear Lord please watch over my family. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter in her pursuit to college. Protect and guide me at my jobs., and assist me with obtaining and maintaining financial growth and stability. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, safety, health, happiness, love, and piece of mind to my family and me. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state. Help D.J.s body and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect for me, truthfulness, sense of being valued, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest. God please protect and heal J.J. and provide him with comfort and love he needs during this difficult time. Protect D.J. ,all my friends, family, and me from getting any colds and viruses. Heal those with the virus, protect those who come in contact with the virus, especially our healthcare workers, law enforcement, grocery/store and delivery workers, those with compromised immune systems, elderly, those with underlying health conditions, and military. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Make us both seek and maintain exclusivity with each other in this relationship in our thoughts and actions and be honest at all costs. Let us look to each other for support and love. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Allow us to have spontaneity and romantic thoughts/ gestures towards one another. Make us unselfish in our thoughts and gestures towards one another. May there be truth and honesty between us even in difficult situations. May we verbally express our love for each other and our true intentions towards growing as a couple. Protect him from getting any viruses, other health issues, and colds during this time. When he visited our family, he gave us a box of dates-those sweet brown, fleshy fruits of the palm tree. They were delicious.****Fruit has always been a refreshing and desirable staple in the Middle East. But in Jesus's day, a tree full of fruit was a blessing, and a sign of prosperity. The purpose of the tree was to provide its owner with sustenance wealth, and the ability to plant more trees. When Jesus was hungry and saw a fig tree by the side of the road. He was more than frustrated when He couldn't find any fruit. The fig tree was not fulfilling its purpose. It was a disappointment. What use is a tree without any fruit? Not much. It is the same when it comes to us bearing spiritual fruit.***Jesus's purpose for me is to bear spiritual fruit-to become an outpouring of His love to those around me. When I remain in Jesus, when I depend on Him daily and rely on His grace, I'm able to serve people using the spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities that He's given me.
