O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Amen Our Father, Who art in heaven Hallowed be Thy Name; Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen. I thank you,God, and praise you for saving my son from an overdose this week. Please, God, help him to afford to see his doctor,and get his appropriate treatment. Please, pray with me for my son, Kevin. Please, Lord, send Your Holy Spirit to encourage, comfort and console Lynne, who is bravely fighting a rare and serious form of Cancer. Bless and comfort her family and help those who care for her. Please, help me pray for our world, especially the covid 19 virus. I was teaching, wearing a long sweater...but no pants. In case you didn't know, it's super important to wear pants when you are teaching! I told my dream to my sister, Jenny. She said, "I'm no psychologist, but I would say you are feeling vulnerable." That is the understatement of the year. My unfettered dreams are showing the real picture. I am operating out of a vulnerable and fearful place. This encouraging verse keeps coming to mind: "You will keep in perfect peace those whos minds are steadfast, because they trust in you." ***My mind is not even close to being stayed on Jesus. It is stayed on worry and a fear of lost pants. I struggle with trust. I struggle with believing that Jesus can work in and through me when I doubt myself. But Jesus promises if I trust Him that He will fill me with perfect peace. He promises the same for you. Our hearts are designed to reside in a place of love, knowing that we are cared and provided for. Our minds are created for peace. Not heart-thumping, mind-numbing fear. We need to rip our eyes off our proverbial pants (our lack, our people pleasing, our fear of the unknown) and focus on Jesus, the One who loves us most of all. the One who casts out fear with His mere presence. We want our minds to be stayed on His goodness and strength and purpose. Stayed on His great love and hope and joy. We desperately need the perfect peace Jesus is offering.
