Lord, bless the Marines needlessly killed in Afghanistan; bring their souls to you. Also bless their families and give them some sort of peace. Please lead the American government to make better decisions and look after its people. Please let there be a turnover in Nov in hopes that we get government that actually loves the country in which they live, makes sane decisions and wants to protect its people.

Eternal Father, I thank You for the new day and praise You for the food we find daily on our table. For all the love You shed on us, we raise Your Divine Name in glory as we know that you are protecting us. However, our heart is in pain as we cannot have the food of the soul more frequent. The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted our regular church attendance. So please, in Jesus’ name, let us experience an increase of the occasions in which we may have more the Body of Christ as food for our soul. Amen.

Lord God, thank You for the many successes experienced in air-lifting thousands of persons whose life was in danger in Afghanistan. The international effort, although not flawless, is a solid sign that cooperation breeds success, though marred by fundamentalism. In Jesus’ name, Abbā, please help the many forces involved keep focused on preventing other man-made disasters that create wastage of life. Let their work be productive as they strive to save lives and help others have a new start. Amen.
