ASH WEDNESDAY - O God, with ashes on our forehead we begin Lent knowing that the rest of the journey will not be pubic like today but perhaps more personal, more one on one with you. We will give up things or perhaps do things to hopefully focus our lives on what is most important. We will pray to draw strength for the journey. We will give of ourselves as your ambassadors so that it is not just about "me" but about "us" about You! And so, as we journey, we ask you to create in us a clean heart and renew in us a steadfast spirit. Help us to remember that now, today is the right time, the acceptable time to encounter and know your love. Fill us with the hope that by your grace we are journeying together in your love. Amen!

Please pray for my dear friend Dina M. who has undergone her third brain operation. Pray that God may heal her with no reoccuring infections.
Please pray that we both retire very soon and are financially stable and physically healthy so that we can improve our home, yard, etc. as well as to keep up with the expected, unexpected bills, share time with family and friends, some of which are elderly or in ill health, enjoy some short trips enjoying the beauty of God’s world at a slower pace and our last years on earth at ease. Please pray that until we retire we remain safe and healthy, get good reviews and raises, bonuses and income tax returns. Please pray for our investments to prosper so we can retire. Please pray that we travel safely and accident free and financially stay ahead of our bills, expected and unexpected and replace or repair our old, faulty appliances, save for retirement, etc. and enjoy life before we pass away.
Please pray that God bless our finances so that my wife and I retire very, very soon, live long healthy lives, and are financially healthy so that we can enjoy this beautiful world at a much slower pace. We are both elderly, our health is failing us and we both hard work every day. At this point it will be several years before we can afford to retire without Divine Intervention and I fear that our health will not hold up. I am currently out due to surgery and my wife will follow as soon as I am healthy enough to return to work.
