Dear my heavenly Father, I just read this prayer of the day and it seemed like it was written just for me. I feel like I have lost everything, and no matter how much I pray for forgiveness for my mistakes and ask for help things in my life just seem to get even worse. I lost my job a month and a half ago, and have not been able to obtain another one. I am on the verge of being evicted, just about everything I owe is just seconds away from being auctioned off, my car is about to be repossessed and now I can't spend anytime with my children even though there is a court order in place that says I have that right. I have been diligently looking for a new job, and seeking out whatever resource I am able to find to get some help. Even though I have very little, I have spent money and really couldn't afford to spend the money I did, I felt that their circumstances were worse. I have been taught from a very young age that you are a merciful and forgiving God, but I just feel like I am continuing to be punished for my past mistakes. I have not sat back idly and said, "I got myself into a mess, now you get me out it." Instead I have prayed for guidance and direction, so I know I am following the path you want me to take. I feel so hopeless, as if I am unworthy of any type of love or mercy. I am at a point I just want to give up, because hanging is just going to leave me even more shattered and devastated than I all ready am. I pray for forgiveness that I hurt my daughter and made her cry tonight. I pray you will please forgive me for everything I did wrong, and that I will not continue to be punished for my past mistakes that displeased you. I pray for the strength to continue going on even though all I really want to do is throw in the towel and I accept complete and utter defeat. I just heard the song "Don't stop Believing", but I am ashamed to say that I am afraid to be hopeful. Please know dear Lord I have never stopped believing, but I my belief is based off of fear of punishment and retribution if I don't believe. Please Father, help me to see I am wrong to feel this way. Watch over and please protect all of us in the world. I offer you this prayer in your son Jesus' name. Amen
