My Father, my God almighty, my fount of love and mercy, when in my childhood days, we had dry winters and we prayed to You, our scorched land turned to plush green, and we could fill our jars with water. Then we used to praise You and raise Your holy name. Nowadays, we have changed. We no longer turn to You. We sow hatred, and dishonesty, and corruption. Today our land is scourched with sin against ourselves, against others, and against You. Today we quench our thirst by drinking from the filthy sewage waters flowing in our society. Beloved Father I beg You, cast down a merciful eye on my country. Make us seek truth and love. Use those whom You favour, to re-introduce the values which once were the dauntless foundations of our civilization.
