Luke 6:27-28 (NLT)*****"WHEN MY SISTER & DAD heard the same radio sermon separately and felt prompted to pray for my former husband, I knew I should do the same. I confess that I fought the side of me that felt justified in leaving him off my prayer list. He'd abandoned me and our sons and caused a lot of pain. But in my sister's recap of the sermon, she'd reminded me that he'd made choices that would reap consequences and that he needed Jesus's help. So I prayed. Several months later, someone's comments left me wounded. "You need to pray for her, I sensed Jesus telling me. but she was horrible to me! "Pray for those who hurt you." remember? " Again, I fought. "This is not the first time she has been mean." I began to pray for some areas of her life that I knew were difficult, and my heart began to soften. It's easy to pray for those we love, but Jesus asked His followers to pray for His followers to pray for those who've abused, betrayed, or been unkind to us or to others. It's hard to understand, but He was willing to do it, so why not us? As a dear friend reminded me, "It's hard to hate someone when you're praying for them." Dear Lord please watch over my Mom and daughter. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions at my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability, and piece of mind to my family and me. Keep me safe, healthy, and protected. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Help my D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect, truthfulness, appreciation, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me. God please protect and heal J.J. and provide him with comfort and love he needs during this difficult time. Protect D.J. and all my friends and family from getting any colds and viruses. Thank you for all of the blessings that you have bestowed upon us as we are forever grateful. In Jesus name I pray. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Make us both seek and maintain exclusivity with each other in this relationship in our thoughts and actions. Let us look to each other for support and love. Guide us wherever we go. Always put us in each other’s heart and mind. Allow us to have spontaneity and romantic thoughts/ gestures towards one another. Make us unselfish in our thoughts and gestures towards one another. May there be truth and honesty between us even in difficult situations. Protect him from getting any viruses or other health issues during this time. Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer.
