ASH WEDNESDAY - O God, with ashes on our forehead we begin Lent knowing that the rest of the journey will not be pubic like today but perhaps more personal, more one on one with you. We will give up things or perhaps do things to hopefully focus our lives on what is most important. We will pray to draw strength for the journey. We will give of ourselves as your ambassadors so that it is not just about "me" but about "us" about You! And so, as we journey, we ask you to create in us a clean heart and renew in us a steadfast spirit. Help us to remember that now, today is the right time, the acceptable time to encounter and know your love. Fill us with the hope that by your grace we are journeying together in your love. Amen!

O St. Theresa, Powerful Intercessor, you have promised to "let fall a shower of roses" from Heaven as your message of love for all who seek your assistance. Ask God to grant me the favors I now beg of you, please let my two daughter have healthy in all senses of the word children, my grandchildren. Also help any child or children who need help and any couple who want healthy children. It is with great confidence in your love for all people that I ask for your intercession on my behalf. O Holy St. Anthony, gentlest of saints, your love for God and Charity for His creatures, made you worthy, when on earth, to possess miraculous powers. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours. Eternal Father, God on high, I thank You and praise You for being with me during a very rough night. The pains I had to endure broke my sleep to very short periods of rest. Nausea, the fainting fits, and the discomfort I offer for the salvation of souls and for the needs of Marija, sister of James. In Jesus’ name, I pray, be with her that she will overcome all health issues resulting from her breast cancer. Guide her through her physical cures, emotional stresses and spiritual turbulences.
