I had a hard time going up the hills because she was making me laugh so hard. I love her perspective. Neither of us is above sharing a humiliating story about ourselves if we think it will make someone laugh. It is a bond we share. Laughter is powerful. If I can make a few people laugh. It is a bond we share. Laughter is powerful. If I can make a few people laugh while I am figuring out this life-thing, if I can usher in some joy, if I make some friends hold their sides when I tell a story, I want to do that. Because joy lets us breathe. And we all need that. This journey of life can be difficult, but in the presence of the One who loves us most of all, what we find is...joy. Psalm 16:11 says, "You make known to me the path of life; yo will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (NIV). I have an inkling that Jesus really liked to laugh. All kinds of people, young and old, rich and poor, men and women, liked to hang around Him. He was a favorite at parties. Children were drawn to Him. The outcasts and downtrodden overcame their fear to get close to Him. They must have been filled with joy, just by being close to Him. Jesus has passed this gift of joy onto you and me. Until He comes again, we are the ones who get to share His joy with others. His love at work in us spills over into joy. Dear Lord, I offer you this prayer, to help me with my current relationship situation. Please take away all the pain and hurt in my heart. Fill it with love, joy, patience, and understanding. Bless me and my partner, so that we may never surrender to whatever challenges that come our way. Fill our hearts with love for each other, and may you make each one of us realize each other’s worth. Please touch the heart of my partner and fill it with much love for me. Make our complicated relationship become uncomplicated. I seek for your mercy and blessing that you may allow us to spend the rest of our lives with each other. Please make this feeling mutual for both of us. Lead us not into temptations, especially during times of stress, feelings of being overwhelmed, and in situations/places that may lend to these temptations. Dear Lord please watch over my Mom and daughter. Provide them protection from those whom wish to do them harm. Provide peace of mind and guidance for my daughter. Protect and guide me at my positions for my three jobs. Let truthfulness, justice, and the moral compass of others prevail for me and my family. Continue to provide protection, health, happiness, love, good spirits, financial stability and growth, and piece of mind to my family and me. Keep me safe, healthy, and protected. Provide me the opportunity to grow my finances for the sake of my daughter’s education and towards my independence. Heal me from what ails me right now and get my body back to its healthy, lean state., Help D.J.s knee and soul heal that he may find peace with himself and his family, and help him grow his finances. Let there be authenticity, respect, truthfulness, appreciation, and genuine love in my relationship as that is what I am seeking and in need of at this time in my life. Help him have genuine show of appreciation for me, and be completely transparent and honest.
