Philippians 1: 4-6 (NIV)**********"THIS PAST YEAR I LAUNCHED myself back into the workforce-as a middle school teacher. I know. It was a wild idea. In preparation for this new career, I met with my fifth-grade teacher, Mrs. Cox. (Best Teacher, Ever.) I asked her, seriously, "How in the world am I going to do this?" In her calm way, she set my feet on the path of teacher wisdom. "Be firm, Explain EVERYTHING. Set boundaries. Have routines. Share procedures. Be prepared. Be ready to improvise because teaching is fluid." As she spoke, I thought, I want to be just like you. I said, "I have a lot to learn." She said, "Keeping thinking that. The teacher who thinks she knows it all is finished." ** I am far from finished. This truth is mirrored in my walk with Jesus. I am still learning to follow His ways and His voice. Still learning how to Trust Him and lean into the hope of who He is. The lessons keep coming. Every day is a new opportunity to become more like Him. When I read the life-altering words Jesus shared, I think, I want to be just like you. And the crazy thing is? That's His promise to us. Miracles waited on your word, which you were ever ready to speak for those in trouble or anxiety. Encouraged by this thought, I implore you to obtain for me healthy in all senses of the word grandchildren from my two children and their husbands. The answer to my prayer may require a miracle; even so you are the Saint of Miracles. O gentle and loving St. Anthony, whose heart was ever full of human sympathy, whisper my petition into the ears of the Sweet Infant Jesus, who loved to be folded in your arms; and the gratitude of my heart will ever be yours.
